Finding a purpose! Julie & Julia & Us

I Woke up with a sense of uselessness,  monotony, with a thought on my mind ,how am I going to spend my day productively? And feel the sense of control and self confidence that I haven't been able to feel lately.

My predicament made me seek for comfort in something familiar,  something I can connect with,  yes ! I made myself soup to comfort the rising discomfort in the pit of my stomach and then I began to feel like craving to watch this film  "Julie & Julia " staring Meryl Streep and Amy Adams. The two women embarking on a journey in pursuit of purpose and sense of gratification,  while struggling to maintain a balance between their work life ,  family life and their passion. Easier said than done! You might think it's a smooth ride , like you glide into this process doing something meaningful for yourself while doing everything right by the people around you, as the reality is the complete opposite,  one must pay the price for their triumph. When you begin to have success in one area of life,  you come across a hard time in the other part of your life.  Perhaps the universe wants to keep us grounded and remind us that we still have to struggle to keep what we have while reveling in the joy of success.

Being successful shouldn't mean that you need to suffer in your personal relationships,  that you're forced to choose between the two.In this film , when this young lady Julie , played by Amy Adams, started to have a taste of success, engrossed in her newly found purpose to relive the recipes of a famous  cookbook writer Julia Child ,and ssharing her experiences on her blog to motivate herself and remain focused. She began to encounter a difficult situation in her personal life.

On the other hand,  the cookbook writer Julia , a character played by Meryl Streep had her own battles , a childless women,  after a late marriage,  keeping herself occupied with a purpose,  her love for food and experimenting keeping a sense of aim in her life.

It's a fact of life on earth , we don't always have everything,  there's always something missing and we're all working to fill that void , some do that consciously and others unconsciously,  however the efforts are made by all .
