The distress of lovers is undeniable, the anxiety and stress is real , desperation and need for response to comfort the storm rising in one's mind is something that every human is designed to face at some point in their life , where we have no idea of direction and purpose.
I came across this picture message written about Surah Duha in the Quran, the story behind its revelation, and it grabbed my attention for a while , the human in me , with all its weaknesses and frailties had a sudden response, me being an ordinary human being , my existence and trails are not blessed with revelations, or direct responses from the creator , even the Prophets of Allah felt the agony and anguish when they were deprived of communication and connection with their lover .
There are several perspectives I'm seeing, to begin with, we as humans are in constant need of reassurance and connection, not just from our wordly relationships, but by the Almighty aswell, since we are not Prophets or pious enough to be blessed with revelations or responses , but we wish for that , don't we? we all want a voice coming out of nowhere or a leaf falling from the tree as a response to our queries and doubts, we need a sign to be assured, to hold onto something and feel relieved when we are facing trails.
Lets see the other side now, since the Quran claims that it is sent to us to ease our lives , in surah Taha it reminds the believers " We have not sent down to you the Qur’an that you be distressed, But only as a reminder for those who fear [Allah] ". Similarly the verses in surah Duha are equally an example for us to hold onto, when we are facing similar challenges in our lives.
Where the lord of heavens and earth responds to his lover , calming and soothing him , by swearing on the brightness of the morning and the calmness of the night , reminding the Prophet that he has not forgotten him , neither is he displeased by him , and to continue the reassurance the creator reminded him of the times when he was there for his Prophet with his mercy and forgiveness. This is indeed a reminder for the believers aswell.
