Justin Bieber & Ramsey Hunt Syndrome

The last time i wrote about Justin Bieber was when he shared his struggle as a couple in married relationship and his ownself. Today I came across this news, Justin sharing with his fans about his facial paralysis from Ramsey Hunt syndrome . According to the definition, “Ramsay Hunt syndrome (RHS) is a rare neurological disorder characterized by paralysis of the facial nerve (facial palsy) and a rash affecting the ear or mouth. Ear abnormalities such as ringing in the ears (tinnitus) and hearing loss may also be present.”

The 28 year old, has a huge followership and he choose to be humble despite the fame. Here is something interesting, he shared in one of his previous interview about how embracing his spirituality has helped him on his emotional journey and how his relationship with faith has changed, he said “Just the idea that I’m forgiven and that he’s walking me through this journey and day by day, I get to just get better and better and not be too hard on myself” . It seems like Justin is trying to embark on a real journey to understand life and faith. He understands that drugs and spirits are not going to lessen or diminish the pain. But a real understanding of ourselves and holding on to our faith is the way.

As a believer, I know that we are all tested , we face tests and trails. There’s no soul on earth, who has not went through tribulations at one point in their lives , infact some go through hardships their entire life and others have a slightly easy life, but no one is exempt. Justin is facing a test of health , which costs one mental health aswell,  hope he stays strong and hold on to his faith. As faith is like an anchor , which ensures that we’ll always float,  despite the dark nights, it’ll always be light.

According to Imam Ghazali, illness increases faith and brings man closer to God. Knowing this nature, we are told by the Quran – “O you who believe, seek help with patience and prayers, as God is with those who patiently persevere” (Quran 2:153)
