We sanctioned Russia over Crimea, and we are now likely to impose more sanctions, Yet Palestinians ask why we do nothing to end Israel’s occupation”.History will never forget the double standards and hypocrisy of European leaders and the nations that this Russia and Ukraine crisis has exposed, everything clear as crystal infront of the whole world, from the language of condemnation to practical actions, from the Sanctions to taking in Ukrainian refugees without fussing about overpopulation, economic burden, from demonising a religion to the derogatory language by their media , politicians and commoners on the streets.
The European Lawmakers from European countries like Spain, Bulgaria, Greece, and Denmark have shamelessly drawn distinction between those fleeing Ukraine and those from the Middle East and Africa. Pardon the sarcasm but when Right-wing nationalist Santiago Abascal of Spain so nicely shared his distasteful views “Ukrainian refugees are welcome, Muslim refugees are not “. Such blatant Islamophobia , racism and fascism has reminded the world once again that colonialism still finds house in the minds and values of Europeans.
Has the world ever heard NATO, USA or European governments condemning crimes of zionist state of Israel? Where instead of condemnation, they block efforts of justice and probes. A NATO member USA has vetoed at least 53 UN Security Council resolutions critical of Israel over past 5 decades ,since then-president Harry Truman,then-president recognised this illegal occupation created in 1948. Instead of condemnation, they are rewarded for their crimes the former President Donald Trump recognised Jerusalem as capital of illegal state of Israel ,in December 2017.
USA shows support for this illegal state every way they can, when in 2016, then-President Barack Obama signed a defence agreement with Israel providing $38bn in US military support over 10 years including funding for the Iron Dome missile defence system.The Iron Dome that provides shelter to the aggressors whilst the weak and oppressed in occupied Palestinian territories are getting bombed .
According to BBC “In 2020, the US gave $3.8bn (£2.7bn) in aid to Israel – part of a long-term, yearly commitment made under the Obama administration.A huge number of this aid was for military assistance.This support came as part of an agreement signed by former president Barack Obama in 2016 Goran overall package of $38bn , (26.8bn) in military aid over the decade 2017-2028”. one must clear a fact that illegal states do not have militaries, but they are called terrorists organizations.
Continuing to add in the list of hypocrisy and denial here’s an other example,Jonathan Greenblatt of pro-Israel Anti-Defemation League tweeted “To compare Russia’s brute use of force against the sovereign and peaceful nation of Ukraine is to intentionally misrepresent the Israeli-Palestinian conflict , and is deeply insensitive to the security and humanitarian crisis confronting Ukrainians”.
Then comes the UK, from lord Balfour’s unjust and illegal decession of sanctioning
the semetic Palestinians land occupied by nonsemetic Europeans and Americans, to Boris Johnson in 2021,opposed an international crimes court into alleged war crimes in the Israeli-occupied territories by saying” This investigation gives the impression of being a partial and prejudicial attack on a friend and ally of the UK’s” , inshort according to the UK , their friends are allowed to continue the Palestinian Holocaust . When the illegal state of Israel wreaks hell on the Palestinians ,the USA and Europe has a record of turning deaf ears to their cries .
It sounds amusing and enraging at the same time when one hears NATO secretary General jens stoltenberg during a press conference calling out Russia , using force to pursue its objectives in Ukraine saying “The world will hold Russia and Belarus accountable for their actions,Russia as the aggressor and Belarus as the enabler ” , and threatened “Russia will pay a severe price for years to come ”. The brilliant and ardent speech of Irish lawmaker Richard Boyd Barrett is a perfect response to every hypocrite, “You’re happy to correctly use the most strong and robust language to describe the crimes against humanity of Vladimir Putin but you will not use the same strength of language when it comes to describing Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians, [It took] five days for sanctions against Putin and his thugs — 70 years of oppression of the Palestinians, and it wouldn’t be — What was the word you used? – it wouldn’t be ‘helpful’ to impose sanctions.”
Furthermore ,We’ll wait until our ears hear the same from USA or UK or Europe for their merciless war on Yemen, where they’re not only providing Saudis ammunitions ,but they’ve boots on the ground, guiding the Saudis in their control rooms , guiding them where to drop bombs ,and keeping up with their war mongering record those bombs are dropped on innocent civilians, on schools and hospitals. The world needs to wake up and challenge NATO and its members for their decades of endless crimes.
