Churches,Synagogues,Mosques and Quran

we Muslims have to listen this on many occasions that our religion has no tolerance for other religions and we are programmed by our holy book Quran to kill the non-Muslims and demolish their places of worship .

so ,without much philosophical conundrums ,i would like to begin with a verse of Quran (3:110)

كُنتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ ۗ وَلَوْ آمَنَ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُم ۚ مِّنْهُمُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ

You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah . If only the People of the Scripture had believed, it would have been better for them. Among them are believers, but most of them are defiantly disobedient.

To Muslims Allah says that you are the best nation sent on earth. why? because Muslims are made of gold or they have some superior gene in their body . 

the answer is NO. Muslims will be the best nation sent on earth if they will follow the commandments of Quran , follow the order of Allah ,and one of his commandment is to protect and respect people of book . 

Quran testify people of book as believers مِّنْهُمُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ

it  testify that among them are God fearing people . Quran also add , among people of book most of them are disobedient . 

This is a warning sign for muslims , because Allah tells in Quran several times

 وَإِن تَتَوَلَّوْاْ يَسْتَبْدِلْ قَوْماً غَيْرَكُمْ ثُمَّ لاَ يَكُونُواْ

(And if you turn away, He will exchange you for some other people then they will not be the likes of you )

Because he Al-mighty in his power can do that .Only Allah can judge what is in the heart of people and as a Muslim we are answerable for our actions and what we do. If Allah saw signs of disobedience in them and replaced them with us ,he can replace us with some other nation too.

Allah says in Quran about people of book ,who are the righteous & God fearing people (3:113)

لَيْسُوا سَوَاءً ۗ مِّنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ أُمَّةٌ قَائِمَةٌ يَتْلُونَ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ وَهُمْ يَسْجُدُونَ

They are not [all] the same; among the People of the Scripture is a community standing [in obedience], reciting the verses of Allah during periods of the night and prostrating [in prayer].

يُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَيَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ وَيُسَارِعُونَ فِي الْخَيْرَاتِ وَأُولَٰئِكَ مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ

They believe in Allah and the Last Day, and they enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and hasten to good deeds. And those are among the righteous.

وَمَا يَفْعَلُوا مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَلَن يُكْفَرُوهُ ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِالْمُتَّقِينَ

And whatever good they do - never will it be removed from them. And Allah is Knowing of the righteous.

Furthermore , the second allegation is, muslims are asked to demolish churches and synagogues . Are we really ?lets see what Quran says (22:40)

الَّذِينَ أُخْرِجُوا مِن دِيَارِهِم بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ إِلَّا أَن يَقُولُوا رَبُّنَا اللَّهُ ۗ وَلَوْلَا دَفْعُ اللَّهِ النَّاسَ بَعْضَهُم بِبَعْضٍ لَّهُدِّمَتْ صَوَامِعُ وَبِيَعٌ وَصَلَوَاتٌ وَمَسَاجِدُ يُذْكَرُ فِيهَا اسْمُ اللَّهِ كَثِيرًا ۗ وَلَيَنصُرَنَّ اللَّهُ مَن يَنصُرُهُ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَقَوِيٌّ عَزِيزٌ

[They are] those who have been evicted from their homes without right - only because they say, "Our Lord is Allah ." And were it not that Allah checks the people, some by means of others, there would have been demolished monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques in which the name of Allah is much mentioned. And Allah will surely support those who support Him. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might.

we can see very clearly and ulema (scholars ) have provided the detailed tafseer of these verses; Hasan Al-Basri comments on this verse, saying:

يُدْفَعُ عَنْ هَدْمِ مُصَلَّيَاتِ أَهْلِ الذِّمَّةِ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ

The houses of worship for non-Muslim citizens are defended by the believers.

Imam Al-Qurtubi comments on this verse, saying:

قَالَ ابْنُ خُوَيْزِ مَنْدَادَ تَضَمَّنَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ الْمَنْعَ مِنْ هَدْمِ كَنَائِسِ أَهْلِ الذِّمَّةِ وَبِيَعِهِمْ وَبُيُوتِ نِيرَانِهِمْ

Ibn Khuwaiz said: Included in this verse is the prohibition of demolishing the churches of non-Muslim citizens, their temples, and their houses of worship.

It is clear that any place where name of Allah\God\YWHA is called and worshiped should be under the protection of Muslims ,this includes churches and synagogues . As Quran has high regard for all the prophets of Allah , and these are the nations and followers of prophet Esa(Jesus) and prophet Musa( Moses)

For Muslims my advice spell is to follow the Quran ,its a mercy on us , a blessing of Allah to become a better person ,rise above hate and prejudice .

And to non- Muslims i give a love potion to study Quran and Islam before judging it and hating it .we always fear what we do not know ,and we hate what we fear . Do not let hate and fear win.
